Man faces charges for shooting threats at Acadia University

RCMP in Wolfville have charged a 20-year-old man as part of an investigation into shooting threats at Acadia University.

Mounties say they first learned of the threat on June 6, which claimed a shooting would occur at the campus in the fall.

Two weeks later, that threat was repeated on social media again.

After receiving tips, mounties identified and were able to locate a suspect last friday.

After a search warrant at a home in new minas uncovered a hard drive, computesr, a 3D printers and cellphone — but no firearms — Colby Watts turned himself in and now faces charges in provincial court on August 23.

RCMP say he was released on conditions.
