Two men arrested in Amherst under drug-related charges

Police in Amherst have arrested two men after a vehicle stop early yesterday.

On Jan. 8, just after 1:30 a.m. Amherst police say officers pulled over a vehicle on Havelock Street where they discovered a substantial amount of crystal methamphetamine, cocaine and cash as well as drug paraphernalia and electronic scales.

Two men from Amherst, 34-year-old Nicholas Ivan Davis and 43-year-old Corey Gallagher, were arrested and are set to appear in court on a number of drug-related charges.

Police say Davis will face additional charges of obstructing an officer, identity fraud and other charges.
