Man facing assault charges after stabbing reported in Dartmouth

A man was arrested on Friday after an incident where two people were attacked, according to Halifax Regional Police.

Police say around 4 p.m. Friday, officers responded to Wyse Road in Dartmouth to reports of a man hitting a woman and knocking her to the ground before leaving on foot.

“While officers were on scene, a second man approached them advising that he was stabbed when he confronted the man who assaulted the woman,” police said in a media release. “Both victims were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.”

HRP says neither victim knew the suspect.

A 35-year-old man was arrested a short time later and is charged with aggravated assault among other charges.

Police say the man is expected in court at a later date.
