Freezing rain falls throughout Halifax

Environment Canada has issued a freezing rain warning for Halifax as temperatures hover around 0 C.

The weather authority says freezing rain can be expected to continue for around five hours before changing over to rain later in the afternoon.

“Roadways should be mainly wet as ground temperatures are slightly warmer,” Environment Canada says. “Icy surfaces could be difficult to detect.”

As of 2 p.m. Friday, the temperature was sitting at -1 C. The temperature is expected to rise to 4 C overnight.
