There was little change to fuel prices ahead of the federal government’s expected removal of the excise tax on Monday, as announced earlier this week by Prime Minister Mark Carney.
In its weekly adjustment, the Nova Scotia Energy Board did not change gasoline prices, so the minimum cost for self-serve regular gasoline remains at 178.7 cents per litre.
Every Friday, the provincial regulator adjusts prices based on the global market price.
Diesel prices did see a minor adjustment, however, with the board lowering it just 1.1 cents to sit at 211.2 cents per litre.
On Thursday, the energy board invoked the interrupter clause and dropped the price of diesel by nearly 11 cents.
One year ago, Nova Scotians were paying 1.35 for gas and 1.39 for diesel.
