Man suffers life-threatening injuries after shooting in Halifax

Police in Halifax say a man is fighting for his life after a shooting in the city’s west end on Tuesday morning.

According to Halifax Regional Police, officers responded to the area of St. Andrews and Federal avenues just before 9:30 a.m.

A 25-year-old man was found with a gunshot wound, and officers provided life-saving measures until he could be rushed to hospital with what are described as life-threatening injuries.

The area of the shooting is closed and a heavy police presence is on scene as of 11 a.m.

Police say the investigation is ongoing, but as of now the shooting is not believed to have been random.
