A 67-year-old man is facing a hefty fine after being charged with stunting late Monday morning.

A Halifax Regional Police officer says the vehicle's speed was in excess of 166 km/h in a 100 km/h zone of Highway 118 near Waverley Road.

The fine for stunting is $2,422.50 and six points are assigned to the driver's record.

In addition, the man was suspended from driving for a week and the vehicle he was driving was impounded.

Anyone who spots a dangerous driver is asked to report it by calling 911.
