The province's Serious Incident Response Team is reviewing the arrest of a teen Wednesday night in Dartmouth.

Halifax Regional Police were called to Sinclair Street at around 10:30 p.m.

Police say the homeowners wanted them to help remove a 17-year-old who was known to them.

While officers were trying to track down a place for the teen to go, they say the youth assaulted the homeowner and started damaging property.

Police say there was a brief struggle during the arrest, which resulted in an arm injury.

The teen was taken to hospital for treatment.

Police have now referred the matter to SiRT who will review the incident.
