HRM radio stations go silent

Changing the radio dial made no difference earlier today, as a planned power outage had every commercial radio station in Halifax broadcasting static.
However, for a planned power outage, something wasn’t planned quite right.
There’s some discrepancy as to whether NewCap, MBS, Evanov, Chum and Rogers were informed of the outage which started at 10:15 a.m. Thursday.
“Coincidentally, which always makes it interesting, the generators that all radio stations have to put their transmitters back up on the air … not one of the three would start this morning because of battery issues,” says News 95.7 and Lite 92.9 General Manager Danny Kingsbury.
Patty Faith with Nova Scotia Power says everyone was informed.
“Followed up with our customer service group and they did notify all of the broadcast networks,” says Faith.
However she doesn’t address whether there will be any further investigation.
