Murder suspect sentenced for armed robbery

The young man charged in the death of cabbie Sergie Kostin is going to prison for another crime.

The Herald reports Chaze Lamar Thompson, 20, has been given a four-year sentence for his part in the armed robbery of a video store.

He’ll actually only serve 32 months because of the double credit he gets for being on remand.

Thompson is accused in the January 2009 murder of Kostin, whose body was found in a shallow grave in North Preston last April. It’s believed he was shot.

Thompson returns to court on the murder charge April 27.
