The Common is getting a brush-up after the Halifax Rocks concert in preparation for yet another big show.
Estimates suggest anywhere from 20,000 to 25,000 people turned up for the Black Eyed Peas and Weezer event on Saturday.
David MacKay with Power Promotions says the turf didn’t suffer much damage, thanks to the dry conditions, so the cleanup crews are mostly dealing with litter and confetti.
Most of the stage and fencing will remain in place, and part of the Commons will be closed to the public until Country Rockfest on August 6 and 7. MacKay tells the Herald that’s just to keep everyone safe while preparations are underway.
Police say they didn’t have much trouble with the concert goers, but had to shut down four intersections near the Common when the crowd began filing out around 10:40 p.m.
