One man was severely beaten and one man shot during separate home invasions in metro overnight.
Police say a 45-year-old man and three others were inside an apartment on Rufus Ave. around 11:30 Sunday night when three other men burst in.
Two had guns and the third a baseball bat.
Several shots were fired and the victim was hit once in the shoulder.
The wound is considered non-life threatening.
The three men ran away, possibly to a waiting car outside.
Earlier in the afternoon, a 37-year-old man was attacked in his home on Willet Street. Police responded to the home around 3:30 p.m. Sunday and found the man had been severely beaten. He was taken to hospital in serious but stable condition.
Neither incident is believed to be random. Police are still investigating.
