No change expected in N.S. gas prices

Gas prices in Nova Scotia should stay fairly steady for the next week.

News 95.7 is predicting no change in the price tonight.

Regular self-serve is currently selling for $1.03 in metro.

New Brunswick’s gas price went up by just over a penny last night to about 97 cents a litre in most places.

The price gap between Nova Scotia and New Brunswick has been a source of major concern for Amherst-area businesses, with two gas stations shutting down this month due to drivers opting to make the short trip across the border for cheaper gas.

Amherst Mayor Rob Small has asked for a meeting with the premier to discuss the issue and Metro Halifax reports he’s getting one, though a spokesperson for Darrell Dexter says a date and time hasn’t been set yet.
