11 year old hit while crossing the road

Yet another pedestrian has been hit by a vehicle while crossing the road. This time it was an 11 year old boy.
Halifax police say they responded to the call at the intersection of Dutch Village Rd and Rosedale Ave at around 7:20 Saturday night. Upon arrival they found an 11 year old boy had been struck in the cross-walk. The vehicle hit the boy in the leg and although no injuries were reported, he was taken to hospital as a precaution. The driver of the vehicle was issued a ticket for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a cross-walk.
It’s been a dangerous week on the road for pedestrians, with about a half dozen reported incidents of people being hit by car’s while crossing the road – most of which happened at cross-walks.
