Pockwock man killed in Timberlea worksite accident

A Pockwock man has been identified as the victim of an industrial accident in Timberlea.

Kevin Dickson, 50, died when he was hit by a metal post around 8 a.m. Thursday morning.

RCMP Sergeant Brigdit Leger says officers were called to St. Margaret’s Bay Road near exit 4 yesterday morning.

“An excavator was being used to laod a large steel plate onto a truck,” says Sgt. Leger. “The plate, it appears, struck a metal post. The metal post then hit the driver of the truck. Unfortunately, a 50-year-old male was pronounced dead at the scene.”

The provincial labour department will take over the investigation at the site run by Kynock Resources Ltd.
