Driverless car crashes on Spring Garden Road

An odd collision happened Friday evening on Spring Garden Road.
Just before 7pm a car struck a light pole on the south east corner of Spring Garden Road and Barrington Street but before striking the pole it hit a person who was crossing in the cross walk on Barrington Street.
The weird part is the car was empty – witnesses didn’t see anyone driving.
After locating the owner of the vehicle, police determined he had parked the car on Spring Garden Rd near Brunswick Street, when he returned his vehicle was gone, he assumed it had been stolen.
Police say it looks like the car was left in gear and it rolled from this location to the accident scene.
The pedestrian was not injured.
