HRM issued a snow-removal update at 4:30 today;
“As of 4pm, approximately 15cms of wet snow has fallen. Forecast has another 15-20cms falling by midnight.

Currently there are 85 plow salt trucks working on HRM roads, mainly on the Priority 1 Arterial and Transit routes. Roads are slushy, snow covered and passable with caution.

Approximately 45 additional loaders are working throughout to open up the Priority 2 local streets to allow access. Clean up and push back on these streets will begin at midnight and all street should be completed within the 24 hour service standard. Crews will not be pushing back beyond the curbs to mitigate possible damage to infrastructure with no frost in the ground.”
