Time to light the Christmas tree at Grand Parade!

The City of Halifax is getting in the holiday spirit with the official Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony Saturday night at Grand Parade from 6pm until 7pm.
This year will feature, the Good on Ya Band, soloist Tamara Scheme, fireworks, a visit from Santa and even movie favorites Shrek and Fiona!
Efficiency Nova Scotia and Nova Scotia power are also getting in the giving mood with an LED light exchange.
If you bring two strings of traditional glass holiday lights for free recycling, you’ll get one string of LED holiday lights in return, based on a first-come first-served basis.
People who attend are also being asked to bring non-perishable food items for Feed Nova Scotia.
There will a street closures because of the event.
Argyle Street from Duke Street to Carmichael Street will be closed from 5pm until 7:30pm.
