Most Canadians feel like they live a pretty healthy lifestyle, but they might be overestimating things.
A new study finds many Canadians are at risk for illnesses like hypertension.
Baby boomers are well aware they need to be more health conscious but a new survey finds that they are significantly off target.
The Leger Marketing survey found that hypertension is out of sight and out of mind for that age ground. 9 out of 10 people at risk of hypertension but only 6 per cent of those surveyed knew it. Uncontrolled hypertension can lead to heart disease or stroke.
The survey pointed out that Canadians think they are being heart healthy by exercising and cutting back on fast food and salt but 50 per cent admitted that they have no idea what a healthy level of sodium is.
