Family homeless after East Preston fire

EAST PRESTON – A family of five in East Preston is homeless after a fire early Saturday morning.
The Canadian Red Cross said the newlywed couple and their three children were away for the weekend at the time of the fire on Brooks Drive, which happened around 3 a.m. on Saturday.
Nobody was hurt in the blaze, which gutted the home, and investigators have yet to determine a cause.
The Red Cross said the family was staying with relatives, and they were assisting with emergency food and clothing.
