NewLeaf gets CTA go-ahead

NewLeaf Travel has been cleared for take-off, as long as they don’t actually fly any aircraft.
The discount travel company announced plans in early January to offer flights between seven cities across the country, including Halifax, but soon had to suspend ticket sales while the Canadian Transportation Agency reviewed their licensing.
The CTA now says, because the company is a reseller and not a carrier, they don’t need an air licence.
They add travellers will be covered by the terms and conditions of carriage set out in the actual air carrier’s tariff.
NewLeaf’s business plan calls for flights to be operated by Kelowna’s Flair Airlines.
