Summer-like temperatures on the way for region

You might want to look for that summer jacket or some shorts as temperatures warm up this week.

CityNews 95.7 Weather Specialist Denise Andreacchi says Monday, the daytime high temperatures will reach 13 C, a full 5 degrees above the typical temperature for this time of the year.

Andreacchi says things will warm up even more on Tuesday, with a mainly sunny day, winds out of the West between 20 and 30 KM/H, and the expected high is 16 degrees.

If the forecast holds, it will jeopardize the record high temperature for April 11th, when the mercury hit 15.7 C set back in 2010.

“We may see a few showers develop Tuesday night, but for the most part, it’s mild.” said Andreacchi.

The high temperatures should remain in the double digits throughout the week, with Friday looking like another day well above seasonal at 17 C.

“It’s a mild, sunny and very pleasant week of April, and I think we deserve it because it’s been a hard start to spring for us.” Said Andreacci.

Seasonal temperatures for this time of year typically register around 8 C.
