RCMP arrest man for child luring in Colchester County

The RCMP has charged a 28-year-old man with child luring following a six-month investigation into reports that someone was communicating online with a youth for a sexual purpose.

In November 2025, the Mounties say they began investigating reports that a Nova Scotia man had sent gifts, and had attempted to meet with the youth at a Halifax hotel during their communications.

On May 7, investigators with several agencies, including the Provincial Internet Child Exploitation Unit and RCMP Digital Forensic Services, executed a search warrant at a home on Oakwood Drive in Truro Heights, where electronic evidence was seized.

The suspect has been charged with luring a child and making sexually explicit material available to a child.

He has been released on conditions and is scheduled to appear in Truro Provincial Court on August 5.

The investigation is ongoing and authorities believe there may be other victims who may have been targeted online.

The RCMP advises any suspicious activity should be reported to local police.
