Mooseheads pick up fifth win in a row against Armada

By CityNews Halifax staff

The Halifax Mooseheads are streaking as the club picked up it’s fifth-straight win on Saturday night over the Blainville-Boisbriand

The Armada would open the scoring in the first period to make it 1-0 for Blainville.

The defence would take over after that, with no goals scored through the rest of the first. The second period wouldn’t see any goals scored either.

Rookie Lou Lévesque finally found the back of the net for the Mooseheads early in the third period. The first-year Moosehead has put up eight points in seven games to start his QMJHL career.

A flurry of action in front of Mathis Rousseau had it looking like the Armada would take the lead back, but the Mooseheads goalie stood tall. Halifax would quickly go the other way and draw a penalty on the play.

The ensuing powerplay would see Brody Fournier finish a nice play from Mathieu Cataford to give Halifax a 2-1 lead halfway through the third. That was the first powerplay goal the Armada have given up this season.

Cataford would score into the empty net to seal the 3-1 win for Halifax.
