Temperature records fall for a third day

It was a hot one in the Maritimes on Monday as a three-day heat wave continued.
Temperature records were broken around the region for another day with the hot spot Kouchibouguac, New Brunswick where the high reached 37.3 degrees. That broke the record for the previous high for the day of 32.7 Celsius, set in 1998.
Bathurst, N.B., was close behind with the temperature there getting up to 35.9.
Nova Scotia’s hot spot was Greenwood where temperatures reached 33.2, which wasn’t a record-breaker.
However, Halifax Stanfield International broke a 12-year-old record for the day reaching 32.4.
Meteorologist Richard Zurawski says today won’t quite be the scorcher yesterday was with the high for Halifax set at 30 degrees and temperatures in the high 20s expected in New Brunswick.
“It’s not going to be a scorching day, but it certainly will be a good hot, summertime day,” said Zurawksi.
Tomorrow, temperatures will get back into the mid 20s.
