Convention centre open house

Members of the public are invited to a pair of open houses today and tomorrow to learn more about the proposed new convention centre.

Trade Centre Limited will hold an event tonight at 6:30 p.m. and another tomorrow at noon to answer questions and provide background on the new facility.

Tours will also be offered of the existing convention centre.

The proposed 1.4 million square foot facility could cost up to $500 million dollars, and while the municipality is on board, the province hasn’t decided yet whether it will provide funding.
