The search continues for a missing cyclist in the Crystal Crescent beach area. 46 year-old Peter White hasn’t been seen since Sunday, though his bicycle was found in the beach’s parking lot Monday.
Police spokesperson Brian Palmeter says White was an avid outdoorsman.
“He does have considerable outdoor experience,” he says. “He’s an avid cyclist, he hikes and has done cliff climbing. Our hope is that he’ll use the knowledge he has until we’re able to locate him.”
White’s bike was found in the area, but nothing else.
“Pete is described as a white man, 6 feet tall, approximately 200 pounds with a muscular build,” he says. “He speaks with a heavy English accent and was last seen wearing a blue K-Way jacket.”
Police have tried to track him using cellphone GPS technology, but so far have been unsuccessful. Natural Resources is lending searchers in the air and on the water and Monday, search dogs were deployed.
