Steen strikes twice as Blues blank Canucks

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Alex Steen scored a goal in the second period and one in the third, as St. Louis shutout Vancouver 3-0. Brian Elliott stopped 32 Canucks shots to earn the shutout in his third straight win.
Steen has six goals in his last five games versus Vancouver. Patrik Berglund finished off the Blues’ scoring with just under three minutes left in the game.
Cory Schneider made 28 saves for the Canucks. He is now 2-2 on the season. In both losses, his teammates have not scored a goal.
Defenceman Alexander Sulzer made his Canucks debut and played just over 19 minutes. The German was paired up with Keith Ballard.
Washington visits Rogers Arena on Saturday.
