HRM loses another Chief Financial Officer

One of the top staffers at Halifax City Hall is moving on.

Chief Financial Officer Jim Cooke has tendered his resignation as of January 25th to pursue an opportunity in Toronto.

Cooke got the job in 2011 after Cathie O’Toole quit for a job at the Water Commission as the cash for concerts scandal unfolded.

“I have enjoyed my tenure with HRM, but I have an exciting leadership opportunity with nationwide scope that I could not pass up,” said Cooke in an HRM release. “It has been a pleasure to make a contribution to the significant work that HRM does in service of the public and I feel I am leaving the department in capable hands.”

HRM will appoint an acting CFO until a permanent replacement is found.
