RCMP warn of high risk offender

ANTIGONISH, N.S. – RCMP are advising Nova Scotia residents — particularly those in the Antigonish area — of the release of a high risk offender.
Mounties say 29-year-old Gavin Sean Griffiths is a repeat sex offender being monitored by the Ottawa Centre for Probation and Parole who recently indicated he was coming to Nova Scotia.
Police say Griffiths has completed a sentence for sexual assaults against women and has been assessed as being at a high risk to re-offend.
Griffiths will be on probation for two years and will be required to follow strict conditions including that he not possess weapons and that he participate in counselling.
