The RCMP says a man from Dartmouth was arrested in Amherst after attempting to flee from police.
The Mounties say last Thursday, officers in Cumberland County responded to reports of a vehicle believed to have been used in a robbery earlier that day on Highway 104.
Those officers tried to stop the vehicle after it exited the highway into Amherst. The driver tried to flee but was taken into custody, police say.
“The driver was identified as Morris James Lanceleve, 42, of Dartmouth , who was wanted on a parole warrant at the time of his arrest,” reads a media release from the RCMP. “Lanceleve has been charged with Refusal to Comply with Demand, Operation While Impaired, Operation While Prohibited, Fail to Comply with Order, and Resist Arrest.”
Police say Lanceleve appeared in court on Friday and is being held in custody pending another court appearance.
