Outages leave thousands without power in Halifax area

Thousands of Nova Scotia Power customers were without power on a breezy Monday in the Halifax area.

The utility was reporting two outages as of noon, the first in Lower Sackville impacting about 2,250 customers, and another on the Halifax peninsula affecting 2,750.

Both outages were restored on Monday afternoon.

Nova Scotia Power did not provide a cause for either outage.

Winds were breezy on Monday, with gusts up to 57 km/h being reported by Environment Canada in Halifax.
